Aluva: The Crime Branch wing of Kerala Police has started a raid at the house of actor Dileep here on Thursday in connection with the probe into the new case against him for allegedly threatening investigation officers in the 2017 actress sexual assault case. It is reported that the officials initiated the raid in search of a gun. Apart from Dileep’s house in Aluva, his brother Anoop’s house and office of his production house ‘Grand Cinemas’ are also being raided.Sources close to Crime Branch hinted that director Balachandra Kumar mentioned about a gun in his statement against Dileep in the actress attack case. But the probe team didn’t confirm these speculations yet.The probe team has been seeking more evidence to prove the facts mentioned in Balachandra Kumar’s statement.According to reports, cyber experts are also included in the teams which are engaged in the raid.
As per Balachandra Kumar’s statement, Dileep and his team had threatened the investigating officials at his residence ‘Padmasarovaram’ in Aluva. Last day, he informed the media that he handed over digital evidence regarding this to the probe team.
Meanwhile, Crime Branch SP Mohanachandran clarified that only raids are being conducted at Dileep’s house and other places. So far, no action was taken to question the actor, he added. He was addressing the media while leaving Dileep’s house.Dileep is an accused in the sexual assault case which took place in 2017.A top Crime Branch official said that three teams of officials were dispatched to carry out the raids simultaneously at the three locations.
