PALAKKAD: In a tragic incident, five persons were killed after a car collided with a lorry in Palakkad. The accident took place at Kalladikode on the Palakkad-Mannarkkad route. According to sources, all the five deceased are natives of Kongad. The bodies have been shifted to the Palakkad District Hospital.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift car, occupied by passengers from Kongad, collided with the lorry at the Ayyappan Kavu junction in Kalladikode. Local residents claim that accidents frequently occur at this location. The car was travelling from Palakkad to Mannarkkad when it collided with the lorry coming from the opposite direction. Four persons died on the spot, while one person died before reaching the hospital.
