Thiruvananthapuram: A 71-year-old man and his 45-year-old son have been arrested for sexually abusing two minor girls at Vellarada in Neyyattinkara, here.

The arrested have been identified as Kudayal native Balaraj (71) and his son Raj (45).

The two sexually abused the daughters of Raj’s wife’s relative. The girls were 11 and 7 years old respectively. The two were arrested after the children’s parents filed a complaint with the Childline.

On noticing the girls behaving unusually and injury marks on their bodies, the parents approached a doctor. Growing suspicious, the doctor learned about the abuse from the children and approached Childline.

The duo was presented before the Neyyattinkara court.
