Family and politics are different, hope Suresh Gopi wins in Thrissur: Padmaja Venugopal

Thrissur: Padmaja Venugopal has dismissed the possibilities of her brother K Muraleedharan winning the elections in Thrissur. The political leader who recently joined BJP made the statement while addressing the media after casting her vote today.

“This election is special since it is the first time I am voting for the BJP after joining the party. My father (K Karunakaran) always taught me to listen to my heart and I still abide by it,” said Padmaja.
When asked whether she would pray for the victory of her brother who is the UDF candidate in Thrissur, Padmaja replied,”Why should I pray for him. Is he sick or something. Politics and family are two different entities for me now. I never ostracised him like how he did after I joined the BJP. He is my blood relation, I know that very well,” said the BJP leader.
Padmaja also expressed hope that her fellow partyman Suresh Gopi would emerge victorious from Thrissur. “During the campaign I could see the overwhelming support for him especially among the youngsters and women. I hope that translates into votes and he wins the election this time round,” she said.
