Election Commission grants four more days to Modi to reply on poll code violation

The Election Commission has granted four more days to the BJP leader Narendra Modi to reply to its notice on violation of model code of conduct in his speech at a rally in Chhatisgarh. The notice was issued to him for his reamrks terming the Congress election symbol as Khooni Panja and Zalim Haath at a rally in Dongargarh.

Modi was asked to give his reply by 5.p.m today. Now he has to give it by 20th of this month. Earlier, BJP had sought one more week’s time to reply to the notice issued to Modi. The party had pleaded that Modi is busy with the campaigning for elections and it has not been able to discuss the issue with him so far.

The Commission had served the notice on 13th of this month to Modi asking him to reply as to why action should not be initiated against him for his remarks violating the model code of conduct.
