Double votes: Webcasting in booths; central forces to be deployed

Thiruvananthapuram:  The Election commission has come out with strict action over allegations of double voting on the rise and increasing complaints of rigged voters.  Inorder to prevent double voting, booths where more number of multiple votes are identified will be webcasted for the complete polling time. Also central forces will be deployed in these booths for the security of the polling officials.

A list of double votes identified with the scrutiny of the Block Level Officers (BLOs) will be prepared and will be handed over to the presiding officers. During the time of polling, as there is no facility to exclude the names, the double votes may be frozen.

The voters who themselves have identified that their names have figured twice in voters list have lodged a complaint with the concerned officials and are waiting for their response. Though the officials informed them that BLOs will reach their houses nothing happened till date.
