Kozhikode: Malayalam film director Ali Akbar has announced his resignation from the BJP state committee. He stated in a Facebook post that he is upset over some recent incidents and decided to resign from the state committee of BJP.
The director added that he has decided to move forward without any political affiliation.
Ali Akbar who was active in social media, channel discussions and public events announced his resignation amid the row over the reshuffle in the BJP state committee.
Ali Akbar contested the 2016 assembly polls as a BJP candidate from Koduvally constituency.
He was busy with the movie ‘1921 Puzha Muthal Puzhu Vare’, his work based on the Malabar rebellion 1921.
