THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crime branch will investigate the complaint lodged by Mayor Arya Rajendran demanding an investigation on the letter being circulated in her name. DGP Anil Kant has ordered an investigation.

DySP Jaleel Thottathil will investigate the complaint under the supervision of crime branch Thiruvananthapuram unit SP S Madhusoodanan. Meantime, the CPM will also probe on the controversial letter. The Thiruvananthapuram district committee took a decision in this regard. Action will be taken against the guilty after an investigation is conducted.

The mayor had yesterday lodged a complaint with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan demanding an investigation to trace the origins of the letter. He in turn handed over the letter to the DGP. She said the letter circulated in her name was drafted and signed to defame her.
