THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A clean chit has been given to former chief minister and senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy and A P Abdullakutty in the solar sexual abuse case. The CBI has submitted a report in this regard to Thiruvananthapuram CJM Court. The CBI in the report has stated that there is no evidence on the allegations against Oommen Chandy and there are contradictions in the statements of the complainant. With this, the CBI acquitted all the accused in the case.
The CBI had registered six cases in the solar sexual abuse case. The case was registered against Oommen Chandy, K C Venugopal, Adoor Prakash, Hibi Eden, A P Anil Kumar and A P Abdullakutty. The CBI had earlier given a clean chit to K C Venugopal, Adoor Prakash, Hibi Eden and A P Anil Kumar. After this, the CBI in their report gave a clean chit to the other two.
The complaint was that Chandy sexually abused her at the Cliff House. However, the CBI in its report pointed that Chandy was not in the Cliff House on the day mentioned in the complaint. The complaint stated that she was exploited financially and sexually after promising help for the solar project. The first case registered in the solar sexual abuse case was against Abdullakutty. The complaint said Abdullakutty sexually abused her at the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. However, the CBI report stated that there is no evidence for the allegation. With this, all six accused in the case have been acquitted.
