BHOPAL: BJP leader arrested for urinating on tribal youth. As per reports Pravesh Shukla was arrested and taken into custody this morning. The arrest came after the video went viral on social media. A case has been filed against Shukla under the SC, ST Act and the National Security Act.A video of Pravesh Shukla urinating on the face of a tribal youth in a drunken state went viral on social media the previous day. The police informed that Shukla, a native of Sidhi is being interrogated and further action will be taken. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra responded that the government will not hesitate to use bulldozers if the accused has illegal assets. He added that the details of Shukla’s assets are being collected and the report will be available by evening.The accused is reportedly a close aide of Sidhi MLA and BJP leader Kedar Nath Shukla. At the same time, there are also reports that there is pressure on the tribal youth to say that the video is fake.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet convened here Wednesday decided to appoint former chief secretary Dr V P Joy as the chairperson of Kerala Public Enterprises Selection Board. Joy retired from his chief secretary post on June 30.

New PSC members
The cabinet decided to recommend the Governor to appoint Dr Jose G D’cruz and advocate H Josh as members of the Kerala Public Service Commission. The appointment is for two existing vacancies. Dr Jose G D’cruz is the additional director (Vigilance) in the Directorate of Health. Adv H Josh is a native of Thirumala in Thiruvananthapuram.

Additional records will not be collected from extremely poor families
The documents required to be produced for availing various government benefits have been eased for the families included in the extremely poor list. The cabinet decided to instruct the departments not to collect additional documents like income certificate for availing subsidy/financial assistance etc. provided by various departments/affiliated institutions of the state government. This is part of simplifying the process for such families to get support and services of the scheme.

Pay revision
Salary and other benefits of employees of Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT), Kannur will be revised with effect from 01.07.2019. The salary and allowances of government recognized posts in Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy will be revised subject to conditions as per order dated 10.02.2021.

11th pay revision benefit will be granted to the permanent employees of Kerala Fishermen Welfare Board subject to conditions.

The 10th and 11th pay revision benefits will be granted to the employees of Kerala Urban Rural Development Finance Corporation Limited subject to conditions.

The employees of Thenmala Eco Tourism Promotion Society will be allowed pay revision benefit as granted to government employees on 10.02.2021.

Bonus, festival allowance and other benefits for the year 2021-22 have been validated to the employees of the public sector organizations Kerala Feeds Limited, Kerala Cattle Development Board Limited, Meat Product of India Limited and Kerala Poultry Development Corporation Limited under the Department of Animal Husbandry.

It has been decided to re-appoint Palliyara Sreedharan, the present director of the Kerala State Balasahithya Institute, as the director after relaxing his age limit.
