Rising for the third straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 40 points, or 0.2 percent, to close at a nearly two-week high of 20,891, after volatile trade, today.
The Sensex had advanced over 650 points in the previous two trading sessions. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 14 points, or 0.2 percent, to 6,203.
But stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore declined between 0.1 percent and 0.3 percent.
