India & Vietnam sign treaty for transfer of sentenced prisoners

India and Vietnam have signed a treaty for transfer of sentenced prisoners languishing in jails in the two countries. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Vietnam Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang signed the agreement in New Delhi today.


The pact will help the prosoners of the two countries to serving thier remaining part of their sentence nearer to their families. It will also acilitate the process of their social rehabilitation.

The two Ministers also held bilateral talks on security matters, issues of training, capacity building, cyber security, cyber crime, trans-national crime, terrorism and disaster management.
