Will not obtsruct journey of people; no ban on black masks, clothes, says CM

Kannur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan ended his long silence over police retsricting people from wearing black masks and dresses during public events attended by him. He said that the government does not intend to obtsruct the movement and freedom of people. His remark comes amidst the protest against him over the allegation raised by Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the gold smuggling case.
“Some people are carrying out fake campaigns by asserting that the government is obtsructing their freedom. However, these campaigns aimed to tarnish the image of the government,” he said.
He added that the state is progressive enough to understand that we don’t deny freedom of movement.
“There is a fake campaign claiming that we object against people using dress in a particular colour. They said that black-coloured masks and dresses are prohibited. However, we are in a state where everyone has the freedom to wear any dress they wish. We are a state that witnessed protests demanding freedom to wear whatever we prefer. Therefore, there is no situation where we will deprive people of that freedom,” he said.
