Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretariat has decided that five of the ministers need not contest the upcoming Assembly elections.homas Isaac, G Sudhakaran, C Raveendranath, EP Jayarajan and AK Balan will refrain from contesting in the polls.Others in the cabinet including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan are likely to enter the fray.CM and others attended the secretariat meeting held here on Thursday.Health Minister KK Shailaja is likely to be fielded in Mattannur where EP Jayarajan had contested previously.Secretariat meeting also heard the suggestion that those who entered the fray for many times shouldn’t be fielded this time.At the same time, there were suggestions in CPM Palakkad district secretariat that Minister AK Balan’s wife should be considered instead of him. However, the minister has denied this possibility.
